It’s Mocha VS Shem. 100 meters to settle it all! From Toronto Pam Am Sports Centre and presented by New Balance Toronto! Who do you have winning?
It started in January 2023 with a simple question from a listener to the KISS 92.5 FM morning show duo of Roz and Mocha. Who on the show would win in a foot race?
Scarborough natives Mocha Frape and show regular Shem Parkison, immediately indicated they would. And so, the trash talk began. Unfortunately, initial plans for the race were delayed after Mocha broke his collarbone in a BMX accident.
Fast forward to spring and with Mocha heeled and Shem eager to settle the debate on the track, the Race was resurrected.
Once the race was back on, it was time to find a venue. With Scarborough ties for both racers the 200m indoor track at Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre seemed like the natural fit.
With a timely phone call placed by show producer Maurie Sherman, aka Damnit Maurie, to Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre (TPASC) Managing Director Robert Singleton, it didn’t take long for TPASC to come on board as the host venue for what would become Roz and Mocha Presents Runner Runner Winner Winner.
